1. Responding to a request, forwarded from Frank, from the pianist Andor Foldes for a short statement for printing in his Festival Hall recital in aid of rebuilding the Bonn Beethoven Hall. VW wrote the following: ‘Beethoven’s name will live in our memories without any physical symbol: nevertheless, I rejoice in the fact that we have a building where we can house his spirit’.
2. Frank’s request for the statement above included a cutting from the magazine Nordisk Musikkultur, Copenhagen.
