Dear Diana

What shall I do with that string? Tie your fingers together to prevent you giving me any more presents?
Something must be done – The Sea Symphony stool was a life work1 – & here you are again! The stool is always near me & is always being so admired I don’t often dare cover it up with my feet – and now that I have scolded I send my love & assure you that I am well – I wish I didn’t fall so frequently – but the last fall was insignificant – only a torn muscle or two!
We had a nice Xmas day Carr came & we browsed over our presents & gossiped.
Uncle Ralph has come back from America looking splendidly well – glad to be home. Today he is travelling to Cardiff for a concert in a ‘distressed area’ – I shall be glad to have him back tomorrow – Its sure to be worth while but fog and holiday trains may make things difficult.
Hon2 sends her love – she has a baby Austin – we have not tried packing Uncle R into it yet – you will imagine what a joy the 3rd hand baby is to Hon.
All good wishes to you and good luck to the scheme.
Your affect

Adeline V.W.
