Dearest Harriet
Thank you so much for your postcard – I also heard from the B.B.C. – I am suggesting not before December as I may be in America Oct & Nov: & don’t want to miss it.1 I fear the Americans will love you so much that they won’t let you come back.
10,000 + 1279 – 20 = 10, 12592

1. VW is referring to the first performance of the Piano Concerto, which in the event was put back to February 1933. VW was to go to America in October 1932 to give the Mary Flexner lectures at Bryn Mawr. For VW’s letter to the BBC see VWL975.
2. Sic. A running joke (see also VWL976) – Harriet Cohen had promised VW 10,000 kisses in return for the work. The total should of course be 11,259.
