Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Cedric Thorpe Davie

Letter No.: VWL813

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

28 November 1935

Dear Davie

Your letter arrived at the right moment for Waddington asked me only yesterday about that choral work of yours because there is just a chance he might get it on at the B.B.C. – but don’t hold any hopes as other people are sending in – indeed I am asking one or two others besides you to submit.1
But cd you have the score sent, a (pfte) vocal score (if any), to S. P. Waddington at the R.C.M.2
But don’t hope
I enjoyed your letter very much & wd answer at length but I want this to get off quickly.3
Yrs
