Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to G.E. Moore

Letter No.: VWL648

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Wednesday [March 1938?]

Dear Moore

I am so sorry to have missed you and Tim and for the cause of it. Tell Tim that I am not at all an alarming person – nevertheless I quite understand his not wanting to make that long journey alone.1
My telegram must have mystified you – I sent it before I got your second letter. An appointment for Thursday had failed & I thought that one day later might be better for you. When I am in Cambridge I hope I may come & see you.
Yrs

R. Vaughan Williams

1. Moore had asked VW to look at his son’s compositions. See VWL1282.
