Dear Evangeline
I hear that you propose to drop the Childrens day – I do beg of you to reconsider this – it will be fatal if we let them drop out for a year – Besides this it will mean that the schools themselves will start a festival without us & we shall lose them altogether – we got on very well in the war years without a competition. The reason given me was that because we now call ourselves LHMC we must have a competition – I can hardly believe that such a pedantic piece of red tape was put forward seriously!
