Dear Victor,
Thank you very much for the amusing cutting: it was copied out of an English boy’s paper that was published about a year ago!
It was very nice to see Mary again the other day, looking so well and so pretty. She gave us a wonderful clock which twirls round & round and makes me rather dizzy.
I am so glad to hear of your bell-ringing, I believe it is a purely anglo-saxon art, and the jargon “triple bob major” etc., fascinates me.

Please give my love to Arnold,¹ and tell him that it is more than time he wrote to me. I heard from Adrian Boult that they had done a piece of his in some Empire concert which they had all liked extremely.
