From R. Vaughan Williams,

London, N.W.1.

April 12th 1956

Dear Frank,1

Here is another rush order if you feel inclined for it. Sometime ago Alan Kirby, on behalf of the National Federation of Music Festivals, asked me to write an introductory flourish for their concert on November 3rd.  I refused. But, as usual, thought better of it, and have sent the short piece to Alan Kirby, who has approved of it. I do not quite know what he and his federation want to do with it. but I have told them that anyway, everything must be done through you, and I have told him to send the MS to you.
Yours,

RVW
