The White Gates,
Dorking,

2nd. April, 1948.

Dear Frank

As regards the S.A.T.B. version of “Sine Nomine”, please wait until I have done all the jobs which are pressing me hard, and then I will think about it; but if you like to get a version done yourself and send it to me for my approval I shall be quite happy.1
Yrs

1.  Frank had written to VW on 24 March saying that Oxford University Press wished to publish a SATB arrangement of his hymn tune Sine Nomine and suggesting that if VW did not wish to make one himself someone else might be asked, to work under VW’s supervision. In response to this letter Frank wrote on 8 April suggesting asking Henry Ley to undertake the arrangement, to which VW agreed (see VWL4080). For the arrangement see For all the Saints: Anthem for Saints Days. Arranged by Henry G. Ley. . London: Oxford University Press, [1948].
