Dear Gil
Ursula & I have decided to marry. I don’t quite know when but probably shortly. I hope & believe that we have your blessing. It makes me very happy & I hope it makes her happy also. For the present life will go on just as ever – your room will always be there – & when & if we move house there will also be a room for you. You know how we both love & admire you – indeed I believe you have become indispensible1 to both of us. You will soon receive a formal announcement – till then mums the word – on the day I hope Mumm will be the word.2
Love from
RVW
