Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Denys Kilham Roberts

Letter No.: VWL1885

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

16th April [1945]

Dear Mr Kilham Roberts

Thank you very much for your letter.
I enclose one on the same lines which I send for your approval – and if you approve to send on direct to Sir Humphrey Milford.1 I found it necessary after all to put it into my own language.  I read the my letter out over the telephone to Mrs Dearmer and Martin Shaw and they authorized me to send it.
Many thanks both to you and Miss Barber for your kind help on Friday.
Yours sincerely

R. Vaughan Williams
