Dear Mrs O’Neill
You may remember that you kindly played last year1 at one of our “Informal Hour of Music” – We are giving 4 concerts of the series in the New Year – Is there any chance that you would honour us by giving a recital at one of them? The dates are Jan 5,19 Feb 2,16 – I suggest one of the latter two because of the blackout. We would of course arrange transport – As we only charge 1/- entrance, the fee (as you may remember) is negligible and depends on the “takings” and varies between a minimum of £2-2-0 and a maximum of £5-5-0 – I just tell you this so you can see exactly how we stand. I enclose a bill of our first series which ends at Christmas.
I was so sorry to miss you the other day.
Yours very sincerely
R. Vaughan Williams
