June 24th [1909]

Dear Mr McNaught

I will send the score & parts of W. Wood1  as soon as the latter are copied.
Can you tell me if it is all right about the vocal copies – some time ago I heard from Mr Evans – while the work was still in proof – asking me to let them have it as soon as possible – so I sent him a proof copy – hurried up the publishers – got them to write to Mr Evans directly the copies were ready and also telegraphed myself so as to avoid all them all – and I have heard nothing from Mr Evans & do not in the least know if they have got their vocal parts to rehearse.
Yrs truly
R. Vaughan Williams

1. Willow-Wood was first performed in its revised version on 25 September 1909  at the Festival of the Music League, conducted by Harry Evans. See also VWL169.
