How sweet of you to write – we had a lovely tour1.
We all go to S.[adlers] Wells on Sat.2 straight there & straight back – that seems the best.

1. See R.V.W.: a biography, p.226: “We had 5 most lovely days – three nights at Cheltenham and 2 at Oxford – felt quite drunk with the spring beauty and the Cotswold country …” (Letter from Adeline VW to Rosamund Carr).
2. For double bill of Hugh the Drover and Job on 13 May 1939. UW attended with her husband, where they both met Ralph and Adeline. (See R.V.W.: a biography, p. 226.) This was the first meeting of the four together.
