Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Gerald Finzi

Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Dear Gerald

All the copyists I know live in or near London. Rowe has done copying for me lately – & wrote pathetically the other day asking for more work – I think he is an intelligent musician.
S O Goldsmith is a good musician but also lives near London and I am not sure that he has not got other work.
