1. South Place Concerts presented a 77th birthday concert for Vaughan Williams at the Conway Hall. The Aeolian String Quartet, with René Soames (tenor) and Alan Richardson (piano), gave the G minor and A minor String Quartets, the Viola and Pianoforte Suite Group 1, and On Wenlock Edge. Hutchinson was assistant to Alfred J. Clements, Honorary Secretary of the Ethical Society, who organised the concert series.
