Friday [23 August 1957]

We are sorry about Eslyn’s mother, & hope she is also progressing.  All continues well – all tubes out, & R refuses to go back to bed till 9 pm with the fierceness of one defending the Rights of Man!1 He manages to get quite a lot of work done, and they are very pleased with him!  But – no Spain as well as no Three Choirs.  In a way I am glad as it is a bit [ir]responsible to be off the beaten track, & not knowing the language!
Love from us both
