Letter No.: VWL3066
From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.
March 3rd [1955]
Dear Michael
The horrid truth is that neither Ralph nor I know which is which of the Tudor Portraits. So appologies!1
What is the name of the proprietress of the Ellenborough?2 I want to book for the Festival, & though I think its Mrs Davies, I am not quite sure. Let us have all your news.
Love to you both from us both,
Ursula.
1. sic. Michael Kennedy could not recall what the difficulty was about – it may have been a misunderstanding over something he’d written about Five Tudor Portraits.
2. The hotel at Cheltenham owned by Margaret Davies, who became a friend of the Kennedys and VWs.
