Dear Michael

Good. If there is an Edinburgh performance¹ next year, as we have heard rumours of & if it’s good, then they might. I wish New York would: but the Garden² notices were obviously bad in the USA. & I would love it if he could have a real blinding success somewhere with it, as he minds so much. So do I.
Love from us both. I haven’t showed it as it’s still a bit remote.  What does John³ think of it, I wonder?⁴

4. Michael Kennedy had proposed to the Decca Record Co. that they should consider recording The Pilgrim’s Progress, and received the response that they had no plans at the time, but would place his suggestion before their International Selection Committee. He had forwarded the letter to VW.
