Villa Cristabella, Forio d’Ischia Italy
26th [April 1958]
The Metamorphoses1 are just right for this island. We had lunch in this bay last Sunday, where hot springs run into the sea – such a sensible arrangement! & broom in flower all over the cliffs. The change has been exactly right for Ralph & he is already starting Act III of the opera. I am only just ahead of him.2 Weather only middling but wild flowers [and] lizards a joy.
Fond love to you both from us both
Ursula
