My dear Joan,
We rejoice at your release. I do hope it will be an agreeable place to stay, and you will start feeling more like yourself once out of the ward, & able to sleep later, & all the other pleasures of solitude. I do congratulate you both on achieving a ruby anniversary, it sounds lovely, and how nice for Martin to have had you so long, & for you to have had Martin.
We’ve just had a happy weekend with the Finzis. Some lovely drives & mushroom picking & Ralph astonished us all by his powers at croquet, defeating Robin Milford & playing left handed.
Love from us both,
Ursula.
