Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to W.W. Thompson

Letter No.: VWL1263

The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

June 17th [1934]

Dear Mr Thompson

I have noted the date Thursday September 27th of September.1 As to conducting, if I conduct the two new items as well as the Symphony it will leave Sir Henry2 hardly anything to conduct which I am sure the public would not like.  But I will do whatever he and you think best in the matter.3
You can call the two new items first concert performance in London.4
Yours sincerely

R Vaughan Williams
