July 26 [1943]
My Dear Vera
Is there any chance that you & Eric1 would honour us with a Vn & pfte recital at our next series of Wednesday concerts?  You know our circumstances, that owing to small hall and 1/- entrance we can only guarantee £2-2-0 each.
If you can come would either Wed Nov 17 or Dec 15 be possible for you?  If not let me know if either Oct 20, or Dec 1 are possible & I wd try & shift the others.
I realize that at such long notice you may not want to bind yourself – but we always make our public announcements “subject to alteration” & I know you wd not throw us over unless necessary & with as long notice as possible
Love from
Uncle Ralph
I do hope you can come. I am writing to Eric.
