Thank you very much for allowing your pupils to sing in the “Passion”.
They did splendidly and the pure sound of their voices was most moving.

1. General letter to all the performers of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, performed in Dorking Halls on 19 March. See VWL2974. In 1949 these were Choristers from St Martin’s Church, pupils from St Martin’s Church School, Dorking; Dorking County School; St Joseph’s Priory, and Epsom County Secondary School. Another copy appears to survive addressed to William Cole; see VWL3752.
