Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to the Post Office

Letter No.: VWL4642

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London.

January 25th 1957.

Dear Sir,
I should like to say how much I admire the work of the sorting and re-directing departments of the Post Office. I enclose the latest of the oddly addressed envelopes which come to me: as I have not lived at Down Ampney since somewhere about 1876 it was a poor effort on the sender’s part, and a good one on yours. Thank you so much.1
Yours faithfully,
R Vaughan Williams
