[late April 1951]
To the “Pilgrim’s Progress” Company
Royal Opera House, Covent Garden
Dear Friends
Thankyou all, from the bottom of my heart for your splendid singing, acting, dancing, playing, conducting, painting, dressmaking, producing and management
This was all wonderful – but you added to it (as my friend Professor Dent puts it) a sort of “dedication” which made everything glow with a new light.
Thankyou, also, for the friendly atmosphere which made all those arduous hours of rehearsal such a pleasure to me.
Thankyou, indeed, for everything
Yours affectionately
R Vaughan Williams
