Dear Sir Alexander
I saw Mr Eliot my solicitor yesterday and put my difficulty to him – namely, that I do not want the money I have, if any, to be merged in a general scholarship fund at the R.C.M.1 and he suggested that instead of leaving the money to the Butterworth Trust as such I should leave it in trust to four individual members of the Butterworth Trust (Mr. Eliot tells me that four names are enough). The only difference this would make would be that after 1941 if the Butterworth Trust decided to dissolve the trust connected with my money would remain.
Would you agree to this and may I add Mrs Mavor’s name. The other two names are to be H.P. Allen and R.O. Morris. I am approaching them individually.
Perhaps I have not made it clear that of course I want your name.
