From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

July 6th 1956

Dear Simona,

Thank you so much for sending me the proofs.1 As you know I will not criticise them, but only correct facts – and they seem quite correct.
I think the first time you mention Hodie you ought to add This Day in brackets, but please call it Hodie, which I prefer, on top of the page.
Love

Ralph

PS.(U) Dearest Simona, I like this very much, and I can’t tell you how much I agree about Sir John: I wish it could have a Christmas Season just as you suggest. I loathed the Sadlers Wells performance bitterly, but I saw it done by Birmingham Amateurs (sounds like a football team) & the Cambridge people and it makes me WILD its not done by a good professional company for all the world to enjoy.
