Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Rupert Erlebach

Letter No.: VWL3319

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

April 7th 1956.

Confidential.

Dear Erlebach,1

I do not know McKay Martin very well, but he has always seemed a nice, intelligent man.  A great many years ago he had a few lessons from me.  He was a great friend of Hubert Foss’s, – he who thought well of him, and he was very helpful during the crisis of Hubert Foss’s illness. I am sorry, that is all I can tell you.2
Yours sincerely

R Vaughan Williams
