Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Roger Quilter
Letter No.: VWL3806
From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
Dec 19th [1937]
Dear Quilter
When an old friend like you asks me for someone else I of course say “yes” & enclose an autograph on a separate sheet. As a rule I refuse these autograph collectors as the only value of an autograph is, to my mind, as a record of acquaintance with the writer.
Yes I heard the Elwes broadcast & it brought back many happy memories
Yrs
R Vaughan Williams
