Dear Bob

Thank you very much for the poems.
Our favourites (both of us) are the Azalea Wood & the Grandson (Adeline says you have taught her a new word “solipsist” which she can’t spell yet).
Our love to Bessy and you Julian & Ursula & Erasmus2 & Solipsist.

1. The year of this letter is an estimate; Trevelyan’s Collected Works were published in 1939, and a copy of the volume inscribed to RVW by Trevelyan (presently in private collection) is dated 1944.
2. Robert and Bessy Trevelyan’s son Julian, a painter, Ursula (née Darwin) Julian’s wife, and Philip Erasmus, their grandson.
