Dear Müller-Hartmann,

Thank you very much. I can say no more but you know how I value your good opinion.1

1. Written in response to a letter from Müller-Hartmann written on December 16th (British Library MS Mus. 1714/1/17, f. 136), which explained that he left the rehearsal of the sixth symphony without speaking to VW because of his emotional reaction: “I never anticipated the overwhelming impression the real thing would make on me”.
