Could you manage Tuesday, August 17th at 2.30, here?2 This would be the most convenient for me, but if it is impossible for you I could manage 6pm on Wednesday 18th. By the way, I do not play the pianoforte.

1. The bass singer.
2. This was a meeting to discuss Standen’s recording of Songs of Travel (the first complete recording as the cycle of 8 then stood). He made the recording in autumn 1954. The recording included Silent Noon, The Water Mill and Linden Lea.
