Dear Randolph

I must write a line to tell you how much I enjoyed meeting your Veronica1 – I was continually being reminded of you – which as we never meet now was like a delightful whiff out of the past.  I hope she had a good time at Sheringham.  It was so nice when she came in for tea with us – I heard of the projected dramatic performance with the Wardleworth2 children.
I shall take you at your word and prepare myself for a night at York next time I come up North.
Yours affectionately

R. Vaughan Williams
