The White Gates,
Dorking, SURREY.

13th October, 1949.

Dear Del Mar

I enjoyed myself the other night very much.  Of course the Part I. did not mean much to the audience, as it was, quite rightly, spoken into a microphone so the audience could not hear it.  Anyhow I think it is a bit long.
I am very glad to think that you are making such a success of your conducting.
Yrs sincerely,

R Vaughan Williams
