Letter No.: VWL4258

From R. Vaughan Williams,

Westcott Road,
Dorking.

August 2 [1936]

Dear Madlle Boulanger
Many thanks for your kind letter – I think you write English excellently.
Stanley Bate showed me also your charming letter to him and I am urging him to accept your kind invitation and to come to your country school in anticipation of the course in Paris.
I feel sure that he has great gifts but his ideas want badly setting in order which I have as yet not altogether succeeded in doing. Like so many young people he is rather impatient and wants to run before he can walk. He is young and inexperienced and if you could suggest to him the best way he could order his life in France both he and I would be very grateful to you.
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
