Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Mrs Turner
Letter No. VWL2802
Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Mrs Turner
Letter No.: VWL2802
From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.
March 20th 1954.
Dear Mrs Turner,
I fear I cannot claim to have written the letter you refer to. During the first world war I was a private in the 2/4 Field Ambulance, and later a 2nd Lieut of a Battery of the R.G.A.1 whose number I forget; I was never a commanding officer of anything!
Yours sincerely
R. Vaughan Williams
1. Royal Garrison Artillery.
