Dear Mrs Crow
Thankyou both for your letter – & for remembering my birthday. It is sad never to see your dear & pretty young people brightening Westcott Road now – But I hope they are happy.
As regards Mr Crow’s very kind offer of a birthday present – If he could really spare the services of his typist for an hour or two I shd be very grateful if she wd really like to come – I have had 120 telegrams besides many letters!1
Any day next week except Wednesday is free for me
Yrs sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
1. Possibly just after VW’s 80th birthday, when he had received many congratulations. The Crows were neighbours of VW.
