I understand the concert is at the Prince’s Theatre on Sunday at 6.30. Could you kindly tell me whether I ought to wear afternoon or evening clothes? Also about what time my rehearsal will come on.¹

1. VW conducted an entr’acte (unidentified) at a show being put on by Old Carthusians, with Sir Lionel Heald, Lord Beveridge, Lt.-Gen Sir Ronald Weeks and Ben Travers. It took place at 6.30pm in the school’s Prince’s Theatre on 20 September 1953. There was a rehearsal from 1.30-4.30 (from VW’s diary).
