Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Mr. Bridgewater (BBC)

Letter No.: VWL1089

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

Oct 9th [1936]

Dear Mr Bridgewater

When last we met you kindly suggested that I might do something for you. Now I have a proposition to make – As doubtless you know I am an active member of the English Folk dance & song society & we badly want these beautiful tunes made known to a wider public under the best conditions.
If I made a programme (or part of a programme) of arrangements of English dance and song tunes which you found sufficiently attractive would you put them onto one of your B.B.C programmes?
Yours sincerely

R Vaughan Williams
