THE LETTERS OF RALPH VAUGHAN WILLIAMS

Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Miss Ibberson

Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Miss Ibberson

Letter No.: VWL4123

The White Gates,
Dorking, Surrey.

22nd. March, 1950.

Dear Miss Ibberson,

Your letter makes me very sorry, and when I think the omission of Christopher’s name from the programme is partly due to the time it would take for to rehearse my work I feel much inclined to withdraw it.  I cannot bear an old gentleman like me standing in the way of the younger people.

I should like, if I may to come to the preliminary run-through on April 15th if you have no objections.

By the way, there are some delightful children’s songs by Christopher, one or two of which I think would be very suitable.

Yours sincerely

R. Vaughan Williams
(R. Vaughan Williams).
