Dear Miss Ibberson

Thank you so much for your letter.  I hope very much I shall be able to come.

I cannot help expressing my great disappointment that you have not included anything by Christopher le Fleming.  Here you have on your staff one of our most distinguished composers who has written some most beautiful music.  Could you not still find room for something by him?

I do not know the “Singing Friar”, but much as I admire Sir Adrian’s opinion about musical matters I cannot take his judgment on the suitability of words.  Why not do the “Five Psalms” or one or two of them, or there is his beautiful String Suite.¹

I do think it is will be a scandal if he does not appear on the programe.
