Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Michael and Eslyn Kennedy

Letter No.: VWL2714

The White Gates,
Dorking.

August 27th 1953.

Dear Michael and Eslyn,

Thank you so much for your delightful letter.  John and his orchestra1 were in fine form last night and gave splendid performances.  He looks all the better for his African tour.
We are going to be in Leeds for the opening night2 and we will keep October 22nd for you in London.
After September 15th our address will be
 10 Hanover Terrace, Regents Park.
 N.W.1.  Tel.  Ambassador 8200.

I have not seen the reccords3 of my Mass.4 The publishers never send me copies, which seems starange5.  By the way, I have never heard of any orchestral accompaniment; I feel sure that Curwens would not have made one without asking me first.
Our love to you both,
Yrs
