1. VW was making arrangements [enclosures not present] of folk dance tunes  for Twelve Traditional Country Dances (Catalogue of Works, 1931/1), collected by Maud Karpeles. The works mentioned here are ‘The Tempest’, no. 10 of the Dances; ‘Corn Rigs’, no.1; and ‘Soldier’s Joy’, no. 3 of the collection. Vaughan Williams was arranging the tunes for piano.
