Dear Maud
I am so sorry I c^d not manage Cambridge – I got mixed up as to dates & forgot that it ended this last this week – and your letter reminding me only got on to me in Surrey when I was already pledged otherwise (not that I w^d have avoided them) – But I’m glad you had Somervell¹ – the more people we can rope in to work for us² the better
– I always believe in deputising duties – it’s the only way one discovers new blood.
I’m glad M. Mullinar³ was a success
