Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Maud Karpeles
Letter No.: VWL4795
[1927?]
Dear Maud
I’m going through the dances & making bassoon parts – these will have to be copied – most of the existing parts have no bowing or extant marks – Miss Avril1 ought to go carefully through them & the wind marking them – any orchestra unless it has marks plays everything like the Hallelujah chorus.
If you care to come & hear my new tune tomorrow do come – but it will be rather bad as the chorus have not had it for a 4tnight & they forget so quickly
I send you a copy to amuse you
YrsÂ
R Vaughan Williams
