Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Maud Karpeles

Letter No.: VWL4899

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

[13 July 1939]

Dear Maud
I am going to risk getting my nose bitten off. But don’t you think you ought to undertake the editorship of the Journal – & use all your knowledge & skill still for the F.S.?1
This wd have nothing to do with the general policy of the EFDS2 – it stands outside it & I hope always will as a relic of the old F.S.S.3 days
No one knows I am writing to you about this
Love from
RVW
