It would give me great pleasure if you and your husband – who I should like so much to meet – would join the party.

The event was billed as ‘A Concert of the Songs of John Raynor’, but also included the String Trio by Ivy Herbert and the Prelude and Fugue for String Trio by Finzi – the items were performed by the Carter String Trio (Mary Carter, violin; Anatole Mines, viola; Peggie Sampson, violoncello). VW had underwritten the costs of the concert; see VWL1288.
