Dear Shaw
So many thanks for your card – How are you – better I hope – Did I ever thank you for the Xmas Carol Book – I wish I had it here.
I hear that your brother Geoffrey is going in for Rugby – For their sake I hope he’ll get in – for ours not.1
I enclose this letter which may amuse you as showing the ways of our “musical editors” – I refused!2
Yrs
R. Vaughan Williams
1. Geoffrey Turton Shaw, schoolmaster, ogranist and composer. He apparently did not get the post at Rugby School.
2. Enclosure unidentified, but possibly VWL391.
