Dear General Lock

Thank you very much for your kind letter. Forgive my delay in answering, but we could not get M^rs Sternbach to make up her mind. She has now decided she would rather stay in England until her daughter has completed her school examinations in July.¹
I am very sorry you have had all this trouble with so little result, but we are none the less grateful to you and M^rs Sternbach shares our gratitude.
I am so glad that we have been able to be of some help to Ursula in her trouble² – she has been wonderfully brave.
